New Album!

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that our new album Cold Blows The Wind will be released on 16th May! This will be our first studio release as a band in almost 4 years, and we’re so excited to share it with you! The album – featuring beautiful artwork by Maria Alzamora – is available to pre-order now.

Last year we headed up to The Studio at Sunbeams in Cumbria to work with producer Pete Ord on the album. We’ve been a fan of Pete’s recordings for years, and George had a great time working with him on Maddie Morris’s debut album Skin, so he seemed like a perfect fit!

The resulting album is probably the most contemporary sounding music we’ve made so far. As well as some tracks keeping the live energy of the trio, we’ve also leaned into a more expansive sound world with string arrangements, vocal harmonies, and bigger rhythm sections with bouzouki and some lovely double bass from Sid Goldsmith.

That being said, Cold Blows The Wind is very much a love letter to traditional music. All of the songs and most of the tune sets are traditional, with the only exception being Lewis’s new tune Conversations (and even that uses pre-existing material as its root!).

In support of the album, we’ll be going out on tour in April and May, and playing some of our favourite venues alongside some brand new ones. Keep your eyes peeled for more details!

In the meantime, you can pre-order the album on CD now via our website, and via bandcamp for CD/download.

We’d love to thank you all for supporting us over the years, and particularly to those of you who contributed to our crowdfunding campaign last autumn. We couldn’t have done it without you! Looking forward to sharing Cold Blows The Wind with you all!

Thanks so much,

Lewis, George, and Cohen
